Ubisoft Brasil, the Brazilian subsidiary of one of the largest game developers in the world, and Webedia, a French digital multinational, have just signed a partnership to host the 2023/2024 season games of the Brasileirão de Rainbow Six Siege, the main tournament national tactical multiplayer shooter game that has more than 85 million registered users around the world. The new agreement provides for the use of the entire infrastructure of the Webedia Arena, which includes artistic studios, transmission resources and office, during the twenty days of competition matches, between April of this year and March of 2024.
Leandro Estevam, director of eSports at Ubisoft LATAM, highlights the importance of a partnership that unites Ubisoft Brasil’s six-year experience in organizing eSports events and Webedia’s infrastructure, reliability and creativity. He says:
“Rainbow Six Siege’s competitive calendar is constantly evolving and we recently announced new features that will further improve the level of matches. In such a special moment, with Brazil chosen as one of the nine official regions of the game, having Webedia by our side in the country will certainly be a differential for us to deliver a complete and improved experience to all fans, especially to fans of the ten participating teams.”
Aspas Tarek Homsi, CEO Webedia Brazil, states:
“This project further reinforces our long partnership with Ubisoft in Brazil. Combining Ubisoft’s strong eSports activity with Webedia’s state-of-the-art production facilities is only possible thanks to the expertise and deep mutual understanding of our technical and product teams. We hope this four-handed collaboration will provide amazing experiences and content for fans in the new season of Rainbow Six.”
In February, Ubisoft and BLAST announced details for Season 2023 of “BLAST R6”, the new global eSports circuit for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. Divided into nine regions (Europe, North America, Brazil, the top three, plus Japan, South Korea, Latin America, Asia, Oceania and MENA), BLAST R6 is part of an ambitious plan to elevate and improve the Rainbow Six Siege eSports. Brazil is, today, one of the greatest powers in the sport, having won both editions of the Six Major in 2021, with Team oNe and FaZe Clan, and an edition of the Six Invitational, with NiP, in the same year. Both competitions are two of the biggest and most important in the sport. In the current configuration, the “Brasileirão” will give four places to Major Copenhagen, two directly in the second phase and two for the initial phase, after going through the repechage.
Rainbow Six Siege is a game that offers a dynamic multiplayer experience based on the selection of unique operators. Using the right mix of tactics and destruction, teams engage enemies in sieges, where both sides have unique abilities and gadgets at their disposal. The game is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC, including the Ubisoft+ subscription service.
