The company showed a long-term vision, reports developments and challenges for 2022 and presents goals up to 2030
Globo launched the Jornada ESG 2022 Report, in accordance with the guidelines of the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative). In this second edition, the company discloses its ambitions and goals for 2030, involving each of the six commitments of its ESG Journey, announced in July 2022.
The plan is connected to the Sustainable Development Goals and the principles of the Global Compact, of which the company is a signatory, both from the UN.
The company also strengthened its ties with the Brazilian Global Compact by joining the Net Zero Movement, during an event at the São Paulo Stock Exchange. By becoming a signatory, Globo joins the business movement that aims to reduce 2Gigatons of CO2 emissions by 2030.
Over the past year, Globo’s cross-functional teams involved in the ESG Journey have mobilized to develop a long-term vision for the company in light of its ESG commitments, define goals for 2030 and an action plan to pursue them. Among the goals assumed is directing 50% of new vacancies to people from groups prioritized by the company: women, blacks, the LGBTQIA+ population and people with disabilities.
The creation of the Directorate for Diversity and Innovation in Content, at Estdios Globo, was an important step in this direction and, currently, 90% of employees perceive Globo’s initiatives to build a diverse environment.
