The initiative, carried out in partnership with VMLY&R, aims to reduce the stigma surrounding cognitive disorders
More than 80% of people do not know the symptoms of early Alzheimer’s, according to the international NGO Alzheimer’s Association. With that in mind, Sal developed the “Lost Passwords” project, which aims to encourage mental health care and reduce the stigma surrounding cognitive illnesses.
The initiative, carried out in partnership with VMLY&R, was carried out based on a Cambridge study that states that signs of dementia can appear up to 10 years before the diagnosis.
With this action, when the employee clicks on the “I forgot my password” link in Sal’s system, he will receive a recovery email with a message encouraging cognitive care, using forgotten passwords to establish conversations.
“At Sal, we place a high value on prevention in the occupational health of our customers. With more people aware of symptoms and receiving medical recommendations, it becomes easier to anticipate and deal with challenging conditions, such as an Alzheimer’s diagnosis,” said Dr. Glauco Callia.
In addition, the campaign was also included in other emails to the company’s employee base, for example, in the alert email for the employee who forgot to evaluate the occupational clinic he used.
To raise awareness about an issue as serious and present as Alzheimer’s, we use a common digital habit, which is forgetting passwords, to promote conversations and people’s real-life well-being, said Sleyman Khodor, CCO of VMLY&R Brasil.
