BETC Havas leads the ranking with six pieces, followed by Africa Creative and AKQA So Paulo, which have five classified works each.
The number of Brazilian pieces classified for this year’s shortlist at the D&AD Awards has decreased, compared to 2022. Last year, there were 62 representatives, while in 2023 there are 45 finalists. BETC Havas tops the ranking, with six chances to win Pencil, followed by Africa Creative and AKQA So Paulo, who conquered five positions each.
BETC Havas classified the campaigns Petra Milk for Grupo Petrpolis and Pride Nation, for Corner Magazine, the latter being entered together with Portugal. Africa scored Amazon Alive for Natura; Unbreakable Courts for Ambev; Spoon Fries for Kraft Heinz. The finalist pieces from AKQA are: Nike 50th – Serena vs Serena and The Real Airdrop, created for Nike and Garena, respectively.

There were 22 entries from Brazil alone, while 23 submissions were made jointly with other countries, such as Germany, Australia, Canada, United States, Portugal, United Kingdom and Singapore.
In 2022, Brazil was among the five countries with the highest number of classifieds on the shortlist. But, this year, it did not reach the top 5, which ended up like this: United States (233); United Kingdom (186); France (67); Australia (38) and Canada (38).
This year, D&AD received 12,243 entries from 77 countries, a decade high. Of that total, 1,261 made it to the shortlist. 342 professionals participated in the judging process, in the 41 juries of the festival: Design, Advertising, Craft, Culture and Impact disciplines, including: Book Design, Branding, Commerce, Entertainment, Gaming & Virtual Worlds, Illustration, Media, Product Design, Type Design & Lettering , Writing for Advertising and Writing for Design.
