Producer will unify the look for the area forming a Global Entertainment Council, with executives from offices in the United States, United Kingdom and Brazil
Producer Hungry Man announces the creation of a global entertainment hub, unifying the operations of its offices in the United States, United Kingdom and Brazil. The new Global Entertainment Council brings together executives from the three countries, who now look at the entertainment area in a unified way, increasingly internationalizing the production company’s projects, which has already been nominated for two Oscars and an International Emmy.
“Multicultural co-execution creatively enriches our projects and expands the possibilities for developing impact projects, which are our trademark”, says producer Alex Mehedff, founder of Hungry Man Brasil and partner of the production company, alongside directors Gualter Pupo, JC Feyer and the American Bryan Buckley.
Operating in the US since 1997, in Brazil since 2005 and in the UK since 2001, Hungry Man is one of the largest and most awarded production companies in the world, with more than 200 Lions in Cannes Lions. The production company has its entertainment areas (cinema, television and streaming) and unified advertising since 2019.
“When I decided to take the plunge into having an international production company, our motto was (and still is) ‘if it’s already been done, it’s not us’. We are always looking for stories that challenge us in every way possible. It’s what keeps us wanting to somehow believe that we can change the landscape,” explains Bryan Buckley.
American producers Ben Ellenberg and Branden McClure, who are part of the entertainment team, also celebrate the news.
“It’s a luxury to have our international offices together to apply a global perspective to our mission. This makes Hungry Man one of the most innovative and exciting production companies working today. Creating innovative and exciting work is the singular goal of Hungry Man, and we know that the only way to achieve this is by trusting the artists”, they comment.
For Gualter Pupo, Hungry Man’s brand has always been to bring new perspectives on the stories they tell, and the creation of the global entertainment center is a consequence of the production company’s trajectory.
“We strongly believe in the international potential of both our productions and Brazilian professionals. Our creative capital is immense. Today, we have several projects under development in the United States, England and Brazil, going beyond, breaking borders”, recalls the director.
Global Campaigns
Since its founding, Hungry Man has stood out in the global market for its pioneering spirit, with new and disruptive narratives in the most varied formats and for all platforms. In 2004, when film was only filmed, the production company created the first campaign in digital format, created by the CP+B Miami agency and directed by Bryan Buckley, filmed in Rio de Janeiro: Mini Cooper Counterfeit. This campaign was the first to receive the Titanium Lions, in 2005, the year this award debuted at the festival. Simply one of the most important awards at the Cannes Creative Festival.

The production company also has global impact projects in its DNA, which address urgent and relevant topics. Along with the organization Change The Ref, which seeks support from the population and congress to restrict the sale of semi-automatic rifles on supermarket counters in the United States, Hungry Man signs the “NRA Children’s Museum” project, created by the producer and co-directed by Bryan Buckley and JC Feyer.
“It was a very impactful project for everyone who participated, both for the cause and the idea of the project, and for the strategy chosen to carry out the action. There were 52 school buses circulating together through the streets of Houston, Texas, towards the home of Senator Ted Cruz, who supports and receives money from the arms industry. The 52 buses represented all 4,368 children who were shot dead by semi-automatic rifles in the US that year alone. We created a museum with objects from children who were murdered, a museum on wheels”, he says.
Brazilian Cinema
Among the Hungry Man projects that will soon hit movie theaters, the highlights are the feature films “Cansei De Ser Nerd”, a comedy that hits theaters in 2024, and “Times of Barbarism – Act 1, Revenge Therapy” , thriller starring Cláudia Abreu, scheduled for release in theaters on August 10 of this year.
