Warner Bros. Discovery announced the promotion of Mariano Cesar to the position of General Entertainment Content Leader for Latin America and the US Hispanic Market (USH). The executive will report to Fernando Medin, president of Warner Bros. Discovery for Latin America and US Hispanic.
The executive will be responsible for leading all content and production teams for the region’s extensive portfolio of general entertainment brands, including streaming platforms, pay-TV and digital products.
In his new position, Mariano will lead the general entertainment content development, production, acquisition and programming teams for the pay-television channel portfolio, including brands such as HBO, TNT, Space, Warner Channel, Cinemax, Discovery, Home & Health, ID and TLC, among others, and for the streaming platforms HBO Max and discovery+, in Brazil.
Connecting our audiences with the power of our stories and the diversity of each of our brands is an extraordinary challenge, and I am very proud to be able to continue on this path that I am so passionate about. I thank Fernando for his confidence in this very important moment for Warner Bros. Discovery, Cesar said.
The executive began his professional career in the television industry 30 years ago, directing brands such as Uniseries, Retro, I.Sat and Space, and later TNT, TNT Series and Warner Channel, among others.
In 2021, with the launch of the HBO Max streaming platform, Mariano took over as Programming and Content Strategy Leader for HBO Max, a responsibility to which he then added the HBO channel portfolio and, more recently, discovery+.
