Photographer Christian Vieler specializes in glorious moments of pure joy: capturing dogs trying to eat treats out of thin air. The expressions he captures are those of unbridled happiness (anyone who owns a dog knows treats are basically life for them), panic anticipation and concentration.
The clicks reveal each dog’s unique personality as we can clearly read the emotions etched into their beautifully doped muzzles. Vieler has been documenting the dogs’ reactions since 2013, and has now collected the photos into a photo book called ‘Treat!’.
Photographer accounts on social media are wildly popular as people eagerly await their next batch of hilarious photos. On Instagram alone, Vieler has more than 300,000 followers in love with puppies! With the models all too happy to continue posing while having fun, it looks like everyone is a winner on this particular project.
“Now, I work with dogs every day. Photographing them is only half the job. Getting good results, understanding and interacting with them is a much more important part. So I can say that the whole project ‘Treat!’ just brought me closer to the dogs,” says the photographer.
