The pair shows a distorted take on the Chuck 70 with exaggerated proportions and an elongated tongue.
The collaboration between Converse and designer Rick Owens’ over-the-top style label is long-standing and one of the brand’s most successful. After the creation of the iconic TURBODRK and TURBOWPN earlier this year, the partnership returns with a new twist on Converse’s traditional Chuck 70 that is added with signature DRKSHDW style.
In this collab, the designer revolutionizes the classic Converse silhouette – which, in this new form, has its proportions dramatically altered. The current edition of the Converse X DRKSHDW collection is designed as a lace-up shoe where lacing is optional. Made with a premium 100% cotton canvas upper, the model has an internal elastic structure for an ideal fit on the feet, as the sneaker has several weighty elements such as its square toe cap and the tongue that is longer than usual.
The Converse x TURBODRK Chuck 70 Laceless can now be purchased at Converse’s Brazilian e-commerce, available in two versions: pink and gray.
Also new, the partnership implements Converse’s Max Grind process on the TURBODRK sole for the first time. This process incorporates up to 40% of scrap rubber recovered and reused from Converse’s shoe manufacturing process, adding it back to the sole.
This limited-edition update to the Converse x DRKSHDW brings never-before-seen innovations with distorted details that have evolved the classic high-top sneaker into a high-top sneaker. slip-on adaptable, once again inspired by a classic.
