Committed to bringing the best music content to the Brazilian public, the magazine announced the hiring of journalist, musical director and artistic curator Sergio Martins. The professional, who has more than 30 years of experience in the segment and is one of the references in music journalism, will be one of the vehicle’s editors and will be responsible for taking care of the printed publication and exclusive articles and interviews.
“We want to make a differentiated magazine, which unites entertainment with quality content. At Billboard, all musical styles will have a voice and their stories will be told by an attentive and talented team”, comments the journalist.
About the partners Fátima Pissarra and Marcus Buaiz, Martins reveals that he has known Fátima for at least a decade, and that he has always been a fan of her strong personality and entrepreneurial mindset.
“I am happy with the chance of being able to work together and take an important step in the Brazilian publishing and music market. Today, I finally met Marcos Buaiz in person and it felt like we had been friends for decades. We have similar views about the showbiz universe,” he says.
Graduated in Journalism from Faculdade Cásper Líbero, in São Paulo (SP), the professional has extensive experience in the publishing market, having worked at Bizz Magazine, Revista Veja and Editora Abril.
“I’ve known Sergio for over 10 years, and he’s one of the biggest names in Brazilian music journalism, practically an encyclopedia. We are very happy with his arrival on the Billboard Brasil team”, emphasizes Fátima Pissarra, CEO of the magazine.
Billboard Brasil promises to bring readers up-to-date news, insights in-depth and comprehensive analyzes of the Brazilian music scene. And for that, it is forming a team of professionals, of which Martins was the first acquisition.
