Innovation appeared as one of the corporate priorities for 2023, according to the ‘Most Innovative Companies 2023’ report by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). The consultancy’s annual ranking also points out that 79% of the interviewed global companies classified innovation among the three most important points of the business, and 66% of them plan to increase investments in the area. The number is close to that recorded in 2022 (75%) and close to the high of 2019 (82%), an analysis carried out before the pandemic.
Even with the challenges presented in 2022, technology companies continue to dominate the top 50 positions in the ranking. For the third consecutive year, Apple takes the top spot on the list, followed by Tesla, which climbs three places to second place, and with Amazon in third.
In addition to technology companies, automakers occupied several spots on the list. International energy companies occupy five spots this year, which could signal an investor’s eye on the energy industry as part of the solution to the challenges generated by climate change.
