The football season debuts this weekend at Grupo Record with national sponsorship from four companies, Betfair, Claro, McDonald’s and Ipiranga. The announcement of the brands that support the sports project, which includes the exclusive broadcast on open TV of the Carioca and Paulista Championships, was made on the afternoon of this Wednesday, 01/19, during a press conference.
At the event, the general multiplatform plan “Football on Record” was presented. In addition to the exhibition of the matches on TV and on digital platforms, there will be the premiere of programs and frames, on Record TV, on Record News, and of products designed exclusively for the group’s digital platforms. The first one, Esporte Record, will air on Saturday (22), in the morning. It will be a weekly program in which guests talk about football. And on Sunday (23), the opening game of the Paulista Championship will be broadcast in multiplatform format, with Palmeiras and Novorizontino on the field. The debut of Cariocão will be on Wednesday (26).
Alarico Naves, Multiplatform Commercial Superintendent of the Group, highlighted at the press conference the reasons that led to the adhesion of the sponsors. “Today we have a very demanding market and they saw this potential, this strength of the multiplatform”, he said.
The executive also revealed that the commercial sector is preparing for the project “Football on Record’ another two quotas with an innovative proposal: “In different formats, a very constructive approach, understanding the need of each one in their communication to design a specific project that can transcend football”.

To create engagement with the public, the station will have much more than game broadcasts, with a weekly program dedicated to sports and a diary on Record News, a new frame on Domingo Espetacular, coverage in the grid’s journalistic channels and new products on digital platforms. from Grupo Record, R7.com and PlayPlus.
On Saturdays, they once again feature a program related to the theme, Esporte Record, which airs between 10:30 am and 12 pm and prepares the public for the premiere of the two biggest championships in the country, Paulista and Carioca. This Sunday (23/01) the teams from São Paulo enter the field, at 16h. And on Wednesday (26/01), it’s the turn of the teams from Rio de Janeiro to debut, at 21:30.
The live broadcasts still take place on the broadcaster’s digital platforms, on PlayPlus. Paulistão can also be watched by R7.com. On digital, an exclusive team will present special products. The broadcast will be led by an exceptional team, with the legendary Silvio Luiz in charge of the narration, and presentation by Zé Luís, with the participation of the comedians Bola and Carioca. They do together a pre and post game, and the break, with trivia, game information and interactivity.
To carry out this wide sports coverage, Record TV reinforced the sports team also on open television, with the hiring of renowned professionals. In São Paulo, names such as narrator Marco de Vargas, game commentators Muller and referee Renato Marsiglia, as well as presenter Fred Ring and reporter Márcio Canuto, who will act on open television broadcasts. In Rio de Janeiro, the referee commentators Guttemberg Fonseca and the game Athirson reinforce the team.

The executive also talks about what the public can expect from the Games on Record: “The viewer, the spectator, the internet user can expect a different transmission from what they are used to, with a lot of interactivity, a lot of participation, and with possibilities of using technology that until then they were not used to it”. He highlighted one of them, the multi-screen transmission in which several moments of a shot can be seen simultaneously, such as the reaction of the coach, the player and the referee.
Record Sport
With a presentation by Fred Ring, from São Paulo, and Mylena Ciribelli, from Rio de Janeiro, Esporte Record is a sports program with ample space for the debate on football. With the presence of up to eight guests, it promotes a conversation about the most important themes of the modality.
In addition to the debates, Esporte Record features exclusive interviews and news blocks with live links. The program also makes room for humor, with paintings by Carioca and Bola, which will create a relaxed atmosphere.
The weekly program premieres this Saturday, and airs from 10:30 am to noon.
Sport Record News
Also conducted by Fred Ring, during prime time, it will be dedicated to various sports. Lasting 30 minutes, it features reports and has an analytical profile, with the participation of commentators.
The program airs Monday through Friday at 7:40 pm.
VARzea da Round
New picture of Domingo Espetacular, starring Bola and Carioca. The attraction brings a good-humored view of the main events of Cariocão and Paulistão.
Premieres January 30th. The Spectacular Sunday is shown from 19:45.
Videocast
Fred Ring receives, for each program, a guest from the world of football. With relaxation, guests can tell funny stories of their careers, remarkable moments and revelations about the history of the sport that is the greatest national passion.
It premieres on 01/29 and airs every Friday.

Paulista and Carioca Championships
The Campeonato Paulista debuts this Sunday, 01/23, with a match between Palmeiras and Novorizontino. Carioca starts on Wednesday, 01/26, with Flamengo against Portuguesa.
On Sundays, the games will be shown at 16:00. On Wednesdays at 9:30 pm. Pre-match schedule starts 15 minutes before match time.
Record TV shows 16 games of the Campeonato Paulista, in the following states: São Paulo, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul.
The other states broadcast 18 Cariocão matches.
Digital exclusive broadcast
On PlayPlus, the public will have access to two broadcasts: the TV broadcasts, with the games in Rio and São Paulo, and the exclusive digital broadcast of São Paulo, with Silvio Luiz in the narration and with comments from Bola and Carioca.
There will be a camera capturing all the reactions and jokes of the trio. Bola will have Instant Replay available with several sound resources to mark the funny, bizarre and controversial moves that happen during the game.
Pre and post game in digital
The pre-game starts half an hour before the ball rolls and features a presentation by Zé Luiz. The proposal is to make a light and very dynamic coverage, with video calls to illustrious fans, football characters and bloggers like Cosme Rímoli. There will be reporters in the stadiums who will participate live in the broadcast. And yet: a chat between Zé Luiz and the “Cabine de Transmissão” (Silvio, Bola and Carioca). In the post-game, another hour of content, commenting on the match and also following the coaches’ press conferences.
