The first personal genomics laboratory in Brazil, Genera, announces a partnership with Sony Pictures for the release of the film ‘Spider-Man: Through the Spider-Verse’, which has just opened in Brazilian cinemas. Fans of the film will be able to find out what their “spider version” would look like through an exclusive Genera panel of genetic results, in celebration of the new feature.
The theme of the panel will be “What would your spider version be like in the universe of your DNA?” and brings features such as recovery time after muscle injury, long jump performance, sprinting, leadership ability, perseverance, resilience, odor detection, information processing speed and sensitivity to cold, in addition to all other information contained in the Genera tests regularly.
In this way, Spider-Man admirers who take the laboratory’s genetic test will have access to personalized and exclusive results, with information on their genomic characteristics and how they relate to the superhero’s abilities. It will be an unprecedented opportunity to connect with the universe of the film.
“Partnering with Sony Pictures is a unique opportunity for Spider-Man fans to explore their own genetic abilities and identify with the Spider-Man universe in an innovative way. It is the first time that Sony allies itself with a laboratory for this type of action. We are very happy to bring our experience in genomics and technology to the entertainment world, and we hope that this partnership will awaken the interest of new audiences in personal genomics”, says João Fernando Biancardi, executive manager of New Business at Genera.
Genera’s promotion in partnership with Sony will run until July 1st. The results of the genetic tests are ready, on average, from 20 to 30 days. Details of the action are available on the campaign’s official website, on Sony Pictures and Genera’s social networks.
