Shopee research pointed out that the price will be determined for 38% of Brazilians when making the purchase
Valentine’s Day is one of the busiest dates in retail and, according to a Shopee survey, price will be a determining factor for 38% of Brazilians when making a purchase. Regarding the average ticket, the intention is to spend BRL 215 on the gift, an amount 3% lower compared to last year.
The marketplace survey also pointed out that only 17% of people already know what they are going to buy to gift their loved one and, among the preferred items, are fashion (60%), electronic products (21%) and health and beauty (6%).
According to Shopee, data showed that Brazilians first research the price range of products (38%) and then search for gifts on the internet. In the sequence, 33% of them indicated that they look for the gift first and then find it in stores with the best offer.
“The survey shows that a good offer is important for Brazilians when buying. Most consumers are based first on the price range, and then choose what and where to buy. That is why our focus has been increasingly on providing resources on our platform to meet this high expectation of users, through coupons and special offers for each date”, said Felipe Piringer, responsible for marketing at Shopee.
Regarding the tools used by consumers to search for the best gifts and discounts, Google remains the platform most used by 40% of respondents, while 35% evaluate the value in recommended stores and 26% consult Instagram. By recommendation of friends, we have 23% of respondents and 15% trust Facebook and Youtube.
