The project, created by DM9, has four episodes that tell the story of people suddenly affected by amyloidosis.
Pfizer invited journalist Chico Felitti, who became known on social networks with the podcasts Mulher da Casa Abandonada and O Ateli, to be the presenter of a podseries called “A Silenciosa”.
The project, created by DM9, was designed to make people aware of Hereditary Amyloidosis and bring visibility to this group of rare diseases, such as familial amyloidotic polyneuropathy (FAP) and transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy.
The podcast has four episodes that tell the story of people suddenly affected by amyloidosis, hitherto unknown to doctors trying to close the diagnosis.
To compose the stories, Felitti interviews Ana Eliza Helfestein Garcia, Evilasia Knabben, Cristina Knabben and Robson Campos, who tell their experiences and recall important events in their lives, such as the time Robson escaped an airplane accident during childhood or the discovery early diagnosis of 36 cases of amyloidosis in Evilsia and Cristina’s family, which made it possible to intervene quickly and preserve the family’s quality of life.
The narrative also goes through the promises of the future, such as Ana Eliza’s desire to have children. In addition, the episodes have the participation of specialist doctors from the Dante Pazzanese Institute and Hospital das Clínicas.
Early diagnosis is a major challenge, as patients with amyloidosis can develop symptoms that are very similar to those of other diseases. Therefore, education on the topic is fundamental to promoting awareness. When we do this from a medium like the podcast, which has been advancing so much in Brazil, we have the chance to get much closer to people, said the director of Communication and Corporate Affairs at Pfizer Brazil, Cristiane Santos Blanch.
The series will be available on all audio platforms, including Spotify, from June 16th. Other initiatives of the A Silenciosa campaign, with more information about amyloidosis, can be seen on Pfizer Brasil’s social networks, both on Instagram and Facebook.
