One of the main players in Brazilian football today, Tamires Dias stands out for turning her achievements into inspiration for girls and women from all over Brazil. Her vocation to break down sporting, cultural and social barriers through football is directly connected with Rexona, official sponsor of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and, now, also a supporter of the athlete.
The most popular sport in the country still presents many challenges for the female gender. That’s why Rexona wants to inspire and support more and more women to play football, putting an end to the limits still imposed by society. Tamires is a great inspiration in this regard.
“Being a soccer player in Brazil is very challenging. I had to stop my career to dedicate myself to motherhood, but I overcame all the uncertainties involving resuming my professional life after becoming a mother. Each challenge and each activity carried out during all these years was fundamental to pave my path. I faced several obstacles, but I remained confident, and today I have the honor of representing my country in soccer competitions”, celebrates the player.
Rexona’s support of the athlete amplifies the brand’s journey towards greater female participation in sport, which includes the ‘Rexona Quebrando Barreiras’ program to sponsor sports-related initiatives for children and adolescents, especially those who face the greatest barriers to being active, as youth from the periphery, equipping them with essential life skills such as confidence, teamwork and resilience.
“Tamires skillfully and confidently dribbled around all the adversities and taboos that are even greater for women in sports. She represents the female strength that, over the years, has conquered a definitive space in football. Rexona believes that the partnership with Tamires can help inspire confidence in other Brazilian girls and teenagers, so that they live up to their potential and, in the near future, we hope, continue with this legacy of representing the Brazilian nation in the fields”, says Viviane Ramos, Marketing Director at Rexona.
Unilever, the company that owns the Rexona brand, sponsors the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, which will be held in Australia and New Zealand between July and August this year. FIFA sponsorship also extends to the 2026 World Cup and the FIFA finals, tournament gamer of the federation.
As part of the sponsorship agreement, Unilever will collaborate with the FIFA Women’s Football Development Programme. Launched in 2020, the initiative is designed to provide opportunities for women and girls, supporting the continued development of women’s football around the world. Unilever will provide funding, human resources and support for bespoke development programs, capitalizing on the increased interest around women’s football.
