The championship will start in July and the finals are expected to take place in November.
The Taa das Favelas, organized by the Central nica das Favelas (CUFA), reaches its 10th edition in 2023, in Rio de Janeiro and 3rd edition, in So Paulo. For this year, the championship will have Friboi as a master sponsor, for the third year.
“The Taa das Favelas is an enormous power for social transformation and has a positive impact on the lives of thousands of young Brazilians. Our involvement with the project goes hand in hand with our commitment to promoting citizenship and social inclusion through sport,” said Anne Napoli, marketing director at Friboi.
Among the novelties, the competition format gained a group stage in the first stage of the championship, instead of just elimination games as it was in 2022. The championship will start in July and the finals are scheduled to take place in November.
