On television, in streaming and on social networks, the contents of ‘A Infância de Romeu e Julieta’, a soap opera by SBT in co-production with Prime Video, are now also available on audio platforms. In partnership with the Building Records label, the songs from Iris Abravanel’s work are now available for free to listeners. There are 16 music tracks that can be played on Amazon, Spotify, Deezer, iTunes and Shazam.
Traveling between the Vila and Torre sides of the neighborhood, learning the anthem of the Centro Esportivo Castanheiras, feeling the energy of the Pedalzera gang and even understanding how Romeu and Julieta met, is now possible. The public can venture into the universe of the telenovela through the soundtrack of the plot.
For SBT’s musical director of teledramaturgy, Thomas Roth, ‘The Childhood of Romeo and Juliet’, unlike ‘Poliana Moça’, has as its fundamental characteristic three well-defined age levels: childhood, pre-adolescence and adults. He explains how the construction and creation of the project was.
“To establish the three age levels more clearly, I tried to work with appropriate and representative rhythms, lyrics, melodies, arrangements and interpretations for each one. We seek to establish in a smooth, almost subliminal, but didactic way, the differences between the two sides (Vila and Torre). The Vila side is more focused on its roots, concerned with preserving the architecture of the neighborhood, its history, its memory, nature. And the Torre side, more progressive, entrepreneurial, is aimed at building and rebuilding the neighborhood, a more pragmatic vision, focused on business, on the future. For this, I tried to use acoustic instruments in the songs and tracks on the Vila side, and more electronic instruments for the Torre side”, he says.
In addition to artists such as Leo Ramos and Carol Navarro, the album includes the presence of several musical performers, including Vittória Seixas, the actress who gives life to Julieta. Fans of SBT hits also get a gift, as Lucas Burgatti and Mari Campolongo, Éric and Chloe from ‘Poliana Moça’, also sing and participate in the compilation. And there’s more: other compositions of the plot will be presented to the public during the telenovela’s exhibition.
It is not the first union of the station with the label. In 2012, the partnership began, which resulted in several compilations of children’s soap operas over the years, such as ‘Carrossel’, ‘Chiquititas’, ‘Cúmplices de Um Resgate’, ‘Carinha de Anjo’, ‘As Aventuras de Poliana’ and ‘ Poliana Moça’.
