Last Wednesday (5), the CEO of Ambev, Jean Jereissati, took on a new responsibility: to be a spokesperson for Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8 of the UN Global Compact.
The executive was chosen to become an ambassador for the cause, with the aim of encouraging other leaders in favor of economic, inclusive and sustainable growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all. Jereissati has the task of publicizing the topic within the organization and among its peers.
“We want to help Brazil prosper and we know that initiatives that drive income generation and employment are essential in this process. Therefore, we are happy to be able to help SDG 8 to gain even more relevance”, says the executive.
Ambev has productive inclusion as one of the main focuses of its business, making the choice of the executive make even more sense.
“Promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all is aligned with ‘Bora’, our productive inclusion movement, which aims to include 5 million Brazilians productively”, he highlights.
Jean Jereissati also signed two other Global Compact commitments to accelerate the goals proposed by the UN’s 2030 Agenda. They are ‘Movimento + Água’, a UN initiative that will impact the lives of 100 million people in Brazil, advancing in sanitation and water security; and the ‘Circular Connection Movement’, which connects institutions and initiatives for the transformation of business models towards circularity, enabling the generation of economic, natural and social capital, and contributing to the effective reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
