On CNN Esportes S/A next Sunday (9), the president of Sport Club Corinthians Paulista, Duílio Monteiro Alves, will be interviewed by journalist João Vítor Xavier. In the program, which airs at 8:45 pm on CNN Brasil, the Corinthians leader reveals his management’s thoughts regarding the SAF, calls and comments on the sporting goals for the season.
“There is a way for the club to be organized and managed like a company, but not be an SAF. Corinthians is a people’s team, a mass team. It’s your fan’s team. I think the Corinthians would not like that. Neither does the board and the partners,” highlights Duílio, who said he has already received funding proposals from Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Dubai.
The Corinthians leader reveals that one of the alternatives studied by the club to capitalize is the availability of Corinthians and Arena shares on the stock exchange.
“It’s the only way we can think of to turn the club into a company. It is possible, but it still depends a lot on studies. NeoQuímica Arena is more viable. It’s a real estate fund. One solution would be to put its shares on the stock exchange so that the fan can participate as a fractional owner. It’s a possibility,” he says.
About club league, the president was categorical.
“Corinthians are in favor of the league. I’ve been dealing with this since the second day of my term. It’s a path of no return. The product needs to improve. Brazilian football needs to improve. Corinthians was never the problem, it always fought for its position, for its size, for its rights, but it was never a problem in relation to the league. He was always a conciliator, giving up and doing everything to bring the clubs together”, emphasizes Duílio.
