Gustavo Laura, co-founder and CCO of We Believers, will lead Film, and Emiliano Gonzlez de Pietri, CCO of McCann Spain, will lead Brand Experience & Activation
The Festival Internacional El Ojo de Iberoamrica announced the first two names that will preside over the jury for this year’s festival.
Gustavo Laura, co-founder and CCO of We Believers, will lead the jury for the Film category, while Emiliano Gonzlez de Pietri, CCO of McCann Spain and chief director of creative integration at McCann Worldgroup, will head the jury for El Ojo Experinência de Marca & Activação .
Laura began her career in 1998, at Agulla & Bacceei/Lowe, working as a creative writer and, during her first years in the profession, she worked at VegaOlmosPonce/Lowe and BBD Argentina, creating pieces for brands such as Renault, Audi, Direct TV, Telecom , Lever, Clorox and Aol. In 2002, the executive moved to the United States to join the headquarters of Young & Rubicam (Latin America).
In addition, Laura also served for eight years as executive creative director for brands such as MTV, Kraft, Grupo Modelo, Citibank, Subway, Best Buy, Rolling Stone, Volkswagen and Disney.
In 2014, he co-founded WeBelievers alongside Marco Vega and, since then, has held the position of CCO of the agency which, at El Ojo 2022, won the award for Best Independent Agency in Ibero-America for the sixth time and the award for Best Agency. Of the 21 Gran Ojos in that year’s awards, the agency won seven of them in the categories Brand Experience and Activation, El Tercer Ojo and Gran Ojo Best Latin Idea for the World, Radio and Audio, Graphic Media and Proccin Grfica.
J Emiliano Gonzlez de Pietri worked for more than 20 years as a creative for Banco Santander’s global account at Ogilvy Madrid and collaborated with Circus Gray Peru and Gray Colmbia with clients such as Uber and Conmebol. In 2017, he was appointed global executive creative director, based in New York, directing Pringles and GSK, the network’s second-largest client after P&G, globally, as well as WPP’s multi-network custom teams on new business presentations across the globe. APAC, Europe and North America. The executive also took on, additionally, CCO of Gray Canada.
In his role as CCO of McCann Spain and Chief Creative Integration Officer of McCann Worldgroup Spain, Pietri works with all McCann brands and agencies with the ultimate goal of integrating the group globally. At El Ojo 2022, he was recognized as the “Best Creative in Spain” and was placed among the 10 Best Creatives in the region in the festival ranking.
As creative leader, he also promoted a renewal of the agency resulting in the multi-award-winning #AtrapadosEnLos90 campaign for IKEA España, which registered 7 golds in categories such as El Ojo Contendo, El Ojo Digital & Social and El Ojo Eficcia. Pietri was also a judge at the Cannes Lions 2023 festival.
The festival will take place on the 14th, 15th and 16th of November at La Rural, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
