The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) just launched a Champions Innovatea call to the startups focused on sustainability develop solutions to the challenges offered by the sponsors of the Champions Leagueincluding companies such as PepsiCo, Mastercard e Just Eat Takeaway.
One of the central challenges of the campaign is to understand how fans can get involved in promoting positive social and environmental impact for the end of this season, which should take place in London (England).
The enlistment phase takes place at official UEFA website, where the three companies published, in addition to a context about each one’s actions, questions about sustainable energy production, changes in climate action based on digital engagement solutions and ways to teach the public how to choose healthier foods. All measures created from this will be implemented in the UEFA Champions League final.
Solutions to the questions asked by companies must cover a series of requirements that each one has designated in its category, such as offering results in tangible and measurable impact, having the potential to be implemented in future events and considering existing technologies and initiatives.
Sponsors will guide startups selected during the testing phase. If successful, the pilot solutions will be incorporated into the organization of the Champions League final. Furthermore, the winner will receive a prize of 45 thousand.
