One of the main Brazilian advertisers died this Sunday (1), victim of a heart attack
Considered one of the main names in Brazilian advertising, Paulo Giovanni died this Sunday (1), in So Paulo, victim of a heart attack. Born in Petrpolis, Rio de Janeiro, Giovanni began his career on the radio, moving permanently to advertising in 1989.
Years later, in 1993, the advertiser founded Giovanni Comunicaes, which would later become associated with Draft FCB, giving rise to Giovanni+Draft, which became one of the ten largest advertising agencies in the country.
In 2007, Paulo Giovanni left the group and founded two live marketing agencies, Mix Brand Experience and Pop Trade Marketing. In 2011, after a period away from the market, he launched Tailor Made, which would be sold to Leo Burnett. As a result, the agency was renamed Leo Burnett Tailor Made, just as it is today.
In 2014, he became chairman of Publicis Worldwide, a post he held at the invitation of Maurice Lvy, CEO and chairman of the group, until 2016. In the same year, Paulo Giovanni was elected to the Marketing Hall of Fame in Brazil, by Abramark (Academia Brazilian Marketing Association). He was also considered Marketing Man of Brazil, by the Marketing Best award, in 2015.
