The Brasil Game Show (BGS) will be held between the 11th and 15th of October at Expo Center Norte, in So Paulo (SP). Since 2009, the event has attracted around 2.5 million game fans, a market that is expected to generate US$206.4 billion in 2025 globally, according to forecasts from consultancy Newzoo. In Brazil, the sector estimated at US$2.7 billion attracts 70.1% of the population.
Soviet Alexey Pajitnov will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. He is the creator of Tetris, one of the most popular electronic games in the world, with more than 520 million units sold on more than 50 platforms. North-American Nolan Bushnell, who created Atari in 1972; Shawn Fonteno and Ned Luke, actors from GTA V; and Charles Martinet and Kenny James, voice actors from the Mario Bros. franchise, are also among the international highlights of the event.
The program includes game launches, gamer products, free-to-play stations and musical performances by the Video Game Orchestra and Sonic Symphony.
Competitions are among the most anticipated activities. In this 14th edition of the event, the BGS eSports arena will have the energetic Monster Energy as master sponsor for the second year in a row. We support not only pro players, but the entire eSports universe, including digital platforms, physical events and experiences in this universe, comments Marcio Avolio, marketing director at Monster Energy.
Newbie cybersecurity brand Norton will sponsor the Monster Energy BGS eSports championships. During qualifying tournaments, the company will promote actions to raise awareness about the importance of online protection. The launch of Norton 360 Advanced Edition and Norton Identity Advisor Plus software will also be reinforced.
This partnership is an opportunity to share entertainment, information and security, explains Luciana Rbia, head of Brazil at Gen, owner of Norton. The company offers cybersecurity, privacy and protection products and services to more than 500 million users in 150 countries.
