Conscious Consumption Day will be celebrated in style at the Conscious Consumption Festival, which will be held next Sunday (15) at Villa Lobos Park, in So Paulo (SP), from 10am to 6pm. The event is free and aims to expand socio-environmental awareness through experiences for the whole family, including musical attractions.
The idea of the festival is to show, through conversations and actions, that small changes generate significant impacts. We want to bring consumers who are rethinking their consumption closer to artists, professionals and companies active in the cause. This collective belonging is fundamental to sowing new sustainable habits and practices, comments Naicl Leonidas, creator of the event.
The festival will feature a program full of shows and shows, which includes an unprecedented performance by the Paraispolis Philharmonic Orchestra in collaboration with artists Chico Csar and Negra Li, who will also perform individually. Other artists in line-up include the Samba de Dandara group, the Unidos de Paraispolis samba school and the performance of the Banda Cucamonga, made up of street artists.
In addition to the shows, the event will feature panels with varied themes, from circular economy to the identification of sustainable products, including conscious consumption, upcycling, edible wild plants (PANCS) and ESG (environmental, social and governance). The program also includes a sustainable products fair with more than 20 small businesses, a community garden where people will learn how to set up and take care of their own garden, a conscious eating area run by Cozinha Ocupão 9 de Julho, and a space kids interactive for sustainable awareness through games, installations and immersion in virtual reality.
We think about the complete experience of consumption: from production to disposal, from public to private. The idea is to connect brands, agents, NGOs and people in a space open to everyone. The festival acts as a bridge for those seeking to generate a positive impact, concludes Fernando Beltrame, founder of Eccaplan, the sustainability consultancy responsible for the event.
To complement the experience, interactive works made from disposable waste, such as aluminum cans, electrical wires, Styrofoam, plastic, cardboard, glass, wood, iron and other metals, will be distributed throughout the festival, within the exhibition. Recycles Creating New Perspectives.
You need to think about the life cycle of a product from its creation. To talk about conscious consumption, it is necessary to reinforce the issue of the circularity of everything sold. Promote reverse logistics, which is responsible for ensuring that a product is disposed of correctly and returned to its production chain, a commitment from everyone involved in this context. Being part of an initiative like this, which seeks to raise awareness throughout society, is in line with Novelis’ business model, which is based on recycling, and together with the Recycling League, our movement in favor of the circular economy, we want to contribute to the promoting and promoting this theme, towards the creation of an increasingly sustainable world, says Eunice Lima, director of Communications and Government Relations at Novelis América do Sul.
The Conscious Consumption Festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Federal Government, through the Rouanet Law, and is sponsored by Novelis, Bayer and Concha y Toro. The event has sustainability seals, including Zero Waste, ISO 20121 and Carbon Neutral, and the production of Duas Marias and Eccaplan. Get ready for a day full of awareness, entertainment and celebration of conscious consumption.
