The most anticipated season of the year for retail, Black Friday is about to start, and Brazilians are already planning their purchases to make the most of the available discounts. According to a survey in-app carried out with users of the Shopee, marketplace which connects sellers, brands and buyers, consumers are keeping an eye on some product categories, such as household appliances, small appliances, audio, electronics and cameras, but intend to invest in cell phones and accessories. Furthermore, the survey data shows that the ticket average reserved for the date is R$250.
The survey shows that home, kitchen and decoration items are also trending on the platform, with 39% of respondents planning to purchase products in this category, which represents an increase of 4% compared to the previous year. Footwear and women’s clothing appear next, with interest from 29% of consumers, while health and beauty items are attractive to 27% of buyers.
We know that cell phones, electronics and household appliances are the focus of many Brazilians today, but we realize that home and kitchen items, as well as fashion and beauty, have also gained their place in recent years. Black Friday applies to products from all categories and brands, nothing needs to be left out, says Felipe Lima, responsible for Business Development at Shopee.
The motivations for shopping during Black Friday remain the same as in previous years. For 55% of those interviewed, the objective is to buy items that are part of their consumer dreams at lower prices. However, 35% of users are eyeing everyday essential products, reflecting a 6% increase compared to 2022.
But, according to the platform, what Brazilians really want is free shipping and big discounts. For 62% of users, having free shipping on all products is their main desire, while 49% wait for great offers, such as discounts of up to 70% on the items they want. Furthermore, 27% of users are interested in discount coupons that can be used on any product, and 14% like promotions in the style of Take 3, Pay 2.
Price is the determining factor. We noticed that, although free shipping is the most desired advantage by Brazilians, large discounts also help consumers fill their cart and complete the purchase, points out Lima.
The survey also shows the main purchasing habits of Brazilians during Black Friday. When it comes to searching for the best discounts, 36% of consumers choose the Google for this purpose. Another 25% prefer to look for offers on specific apps and websites, while 12% trust recommendations from friends and family. Only 5% of respondents claim to be influenced by offers seen on social networks or presented by content producers.
Shopee, a global e-commerce platform, is ready to offer Brazilian consumers a variety of products and savings opportunities during this year’s Black Friday, focusing on meeting the demands shown by the survey and providing a convenient, safe and fun shopping experience to users.
