Study also showed the podcasts most listened to by respondents
Research carried out by ESPM’s Marketing and Consumer Insights Center found that 68% of listeners consume some type of podcast. The survey showed that, of the 68% of people, 28% have had this habit for one or two years, while 67% have had this habit once or twice a week.
Among young people aged 18 to 25, 36% prefer podcasts of up to one hour, while 29% say that a maximum length of two hours is appropriate. In general, the genre that most attracts the public’s attention is humor, with a percentage of listeners corresponding to 65% of the female audience and 35% of the male audience.
Podcasts about crimes and thrillers also attract more attention from the female audience, which corresponds to 75% of listeners. On the other hand, podcasts with business themes have 65% of consumers being male.
Topics such as technology, education, art, fashion and history account for up to 5% of public interest, while topics such as science, business, culture and sports account for 10%.
Furthermore, Numa’s research showed that, among the most consumed podcasts, are Pod Delas, Pod Pah, Flow, Podcats and Caf da Manh.
