Focused on education, events and actions based on the creative economy, the World Creativity Organization (WCO) is further strengthening its international operations, starting with Portugal. The official launch of the partnership was celebrated in Lisbon on October 26th, at the Mouraria Innovation Center, with the support of the Municipal Chamber of the Portuguese capital.
During the event, registrations were opened for professionals and entrepreneurs interested in leading World Creativity Day in the country, an event that promotes creativity and innovation in economic, social, cultural and environmental challenges.
In total, there will be eight places for Portuguese cities to participate in the largest collaborative creativity festival in the world. Registration will be open until November 26, 2023. In recent years, we have had the presence of different cities in the north of the country, and this year, we would also like to have more cities in the south of Portugalexplains Lucas Foster, founder and director of the World Creativity Organization.
Marta Leite de Castro, CEO and founder of Projeto N360 and João Baptista, founder of the Institute for Tomorrow, will also be present at the celebration, sharing their experiences and ideas with the local creative community.
The launch event for World Creativity Day in Portugal promises a night full of discoveries, connections and inspiration. It is an unmissable opportunity to explore new horizons of creativity and innovation, celebrates Foster.
Portugal has been actively participating in World Creativity Day since 2019, and now, it will count on Elisangela Souza as Country Manager to lead the operation in the country, in the 2024/2025 cycle. Elisangela Souza CEO and founder of IDE Social Hub, a startup of social impact, and has expertise in ESG, third sector and culture, with more than a decade of experience in these fields.
The expansion to Portugal is an important step in the World Organization for Creativity’s growth plan. Recently, WCO announced the arrival of two new partners: Julius Wiedemann, as Co-CEO of the World Creativity Festival, and Luiz Serafim, as executive director of World Creativity Day. With this, Lucas Foster, founder of holding Brazilian, now focuses its efforts on the internationalization of the group’s brands, on institutional relationships with governments and companies and on attracting new businesses.
The Organization’s mission is to promote creativity and innovation in global challenges, and seeks to involve educators, entrepreneurs, social leaders, content creators and researchers in the development of concrete actions that promote a positive and sustainable impact on society.
