In this Monday, ASICS announced a new partnership with Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB). The agreement will begin at the Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games, which begin next Friday (17), and will last until the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
For the first event, sponsorship includes the GEL-Meteora sneakers that will be used by the entire delegation, made up of 324 athletes. And for the Paralympic Games, it includes a complete uniform with clothing, footwear, accessories for the delegation and clothing for athletics and sitting volleyball.
Since 2021, ASICS has sponsored a team of Brazilian para-athletes. The group is made up of Edwarda Oliveira (sitting volleyball and para badminton), Luiza Fiorese (sitting volleyball), Gustavo Carneiro (wheelchair tennis) and Vinicius Rodrigues (para athletics). Now, Brazil joins the ASICS global portfolio, which already sponsors the Japanese Paralympic Committee.
At the end of October, the CEO and president of ASICS Corporation, Yasuhito Hirota, visited the Paralympic Training Center facilities in So Paulo (SP).
I was very impressed with the quality of the training center, and I am looking forward to hosting the Committee in Kobe, where the ASICS research center is located, during the World Athletics Championships in 2024, says Hirota.
The partnership seeks, in addition to promoting inclusion and sporting excellence, to offer essential support to Brazil’s Paralympic athletes, providing high-quality equipment and resources to help them achieve their peak performance while competing at an international level.
During the Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games, ASICS will also promote brand activations at Casa Brasil Paralmpico, the place where all athletes are welcomed during the competition.
At the Lima 2019 Parapan American Games, Brazil made history by winning 308 medals, a mark never achieved by a country in a single edition. In Santiago, the expectation is to increase this record, and with that in mind, to crown this special moment, ASICS has prepared a gift for all the medalists and will also deliver it to Casa Brasil.
