The Organization was honored by the Freedom of Expression and Safety for Journalists Program
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) received the ANJ Press Freedom Award 2023, with the Freedom of Expression and Safety for Journalists Program.
The award, given by the National Newspaper Association (ANJ), recognizes the entity’s work in defending freedom of expression and integrity of press professionals in the exercise of their function.
The director of UNESCO, Marlova Jovchelovitch Noleto, received the award alongside Adauto Soares, coordinator of the Communication and Information Sector, from Marcelo Rech, president of ANJ, and vice-president, Francisco Mesquita Neto.
Dalton Pastore, president of ESPM, host of the event, highlighted the actions of the advertising market in favor of defending freedom of the press and democracy, such as the holding of the 4th and 5th Communications Congress, in which the themes were widely discussed and defended .
The ceremony took place on the 30th, at the headquarters of ESPM Tech, in So Paulo, and was attended by market leaders, such as João Roberto Marinho (Globo), Nelson Sirotsky (RBS), Pedro Silva (IVC), Tiago Ferrentini (Propmark), among others.
