The Association of Advertising Professionals (APP), an entity that supports and encourages communication activities and assists in the improvement of professionals, won the Human Rights and Diversity Seal, granted by São Paulo City Hallby the initiative of the Bath of Diversity project, in the Racial Equality category.
The Diversity Shower, held by APP Brasil since 2021, is a meeting that brings together professionals and market leaders to discuss agendas that encompass plurality in communication and bring reflections on diversity within agencies. The objective is to raise provocations and questions about each person’s relationships with society, and mainly, with the job market.
APP Brasil celebrates with great pride this achievement of the Human Rights and Diversity Seal, granted by the City of So Paulo, further praising the Diversity Shower, held since 2021 by APP Brasil. This certification is the result of the commitment to promoting initiatives that address crucial themes for the construction of a more inclusive and plural society and market, reflecting APP’s purpose in actively contributing to the promotion of a fairer and more diverse environment, highlights Silvio Soledade, president from APP Brasil.
The Human Rights and Diversity Seal, an initiative of the Municipal Secretariat for Human Rights and Citizenship (SMDHC), represents an annual badge granted by the City of São Paulo to projects that stand out in the promotion and defense of human rights and diversity. This honor is aimed both at initiatives aimed at society in general and those implemented internally within organizations, recognizing and encouraging significant efforts in these crucial areas.
Having APP’s diversity work being recognized by such an important seal is an immense source of pride. The Association of Advertising Professionals is organized to look at people and their demands above all else, and there is no way to do this work seriously without considering diversity. Having the public and private initiative and all our partners with us takes us far, and this is the path we intend to follow in our projects: with plurality and legacy, reports Jef Martins, vice-president of Diversity and Inclusion at APP Brasil.
The Seal Awards ceremony will be held this Tuesday (5), at the Sesc Pinheiros facilities, in São Paulo. The vice-president and director of Diversity and Inclusion at APP Brasil, Jef Martins and Marta Gucciardi, will represent the entity by taking the stage to receive the well-deserved trophy in recognition of the efforts and positive impact achieved.
Receiving the Diversity and Human Rights seal from the City of São Paulo is recognition of the work that we, at APP, are doing in promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in the advertising market and in society as a whole. We know that there is a lot to be done when it comes to a fairer and more balanced society and the responsibility of the communications market on this topic, but we are moving forward, and this recognition is important for us to continue, points out Marta Gucciardi.
The Seal is valid for one year, ending when the next edition is launched. This approach aims to motivate organizations to improve their initiatives and expand their reach to other categories. In the subsequent edition of the program, organizations have the opportunity to register in categories already participated or explore new areas, even maintaining the same initiative, even if significant growth is demonstrated.
