Elon Musk says Walt Disney is turning in his grave for what Bob did to his company.
The billionaire Elon Musk is revolting against the CEO ofDisneyBob Iger, after the company stopped advertising on X, Musk’s platform formerly known asTwitter.
In a series of publications on his official X account, the billionaire says that Iger should be fired immediately and that Walt Disney is turning over in his grave for what Bob did to his company.
This reaction from the owner of theTesla happened a week after he rudely targeted companies that joined in a boycott of ads on his platform, saying “You’re going to [improprio]”.
The reason behind the cancellation of advertising by Disney and other companies, such as Apple and Comcast, no X is related to anti-Semitism within the platform. A problem that became even more evident after changes to the site’s policies that reduced the fight against this type of behavior by platform users.
Bob Iger, who returned to Disney to guide it and is credited with a series of acquisitions and strategic moves that increased the company’s market value, received criticism and name-calling from Elon Musk during a speech where he accused companies that removed their X ads from try to blackmail him.
“I don’t want them to advertise. If someone is going to blackmail me with publicity or money, see if [improprio] voc. V. Se. [improprio]. You. Is it clear? Hey Bob, if you’re in the audience, that’s how I feel, said the billionaire in response to a question asked at the New York Times’ DealBook Summit event.
Linda Yaccarino, CEO of X who also participated in the event, is reposting what she called Musk’s “frank interview.”
“OX is at a unique and incredible intersection between Free Speech and Main Street. And the X community is powerful and is here to welcome you”, commented the CEO.
In addition to the personal attacks on Bob Iger, Elon, in a post on Thursday, alluded to the recent box office performances of some Disney companies, such as Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar, saying that Bob Iger dropped “more bombs than a B-52.”
X anti-Semitic?
Musk has also been involved in other controversies recently, including a time when the businessman apparently agreed with an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory, later apologizing for it. Despite the apology, Musk’s initial action appears to have affected X financially, with him acknowledging a significant 50% drop in advertising revenue.
These events demonstrate a series of problems and tensions, not only in relation to anti-Semitism on the platform, but also in relation to Musk’s controversial management and interactions with advertisers and other figures in the business world. These challenges could have profound impacts on the legacy Twitter and its relationships with investors and advertisers in the near future.
