One of the main connection points between the west and east zones, Minhoco was the setting for the new film about the Chevrolet Bolt EUV, the automaker’s electric car. Due to the proximity of the road to the buildings, residents around the Presidente João Goulart elevated road managed to get the elevated road closed at night through the courts, due to the noise from cars near the windows. Today, Minhoco has a vehicle restriction between 8pm and 6am.
And the location was chosen for the recording precisely to show the silence of the new Chevrolet car. With legal authorization, the brand took its 100% electric SUV to drive in Minhoco during the restricted hours. Throughout the morning, the car traveled the 3km of the elevated road, centimeters from the windows of the buildings.
Chris Rego, executive director of marketing at GM América do Sul, reveals that the choice of Minhoco was important. “The objective of this initiative is to show how new tram technologies can be positive for people’s well-being, as in addition to not emitting polluting gases, which directly impact air quality, they also have a very low level of noise pollution,” he said.
