In Brazil, trends such as hashtag #BookTokBrasil and the videos with Ludmilla’s voice effect were some of the platform’s highlights this year.

From catchy pop songs to trending sounds again, TikTok artists led the soundtrack to 2023. This year, our most popular song in the world was ‘Cupid – Twin Ver – Sped Up Version’ by FIFTY FIFTY. Taking advantage of the TikTok audience’s affinity for fast-paced music, this version of “Cupid” was a sensation, starting a series of trends that generated millions of streams, resulting in the K-pop girl group’s first entry into the Billboard 100.

Mae Stephens, whose hit ‘If We Ever Broke Up’ ranked second on the list of TikTok’s most popular songs worldwide, was able to quit her supermarket job this year to make music full time.
