Announcement comes almost two months after the union of WT and VMLY&R
The CEO of Wunderman Thompson, Pedro Reiss, announced his departure from the position this Wednesday (13). The announcement comes almost two months after the agency’s merger with VMLY&, which will now be called VML.
Reiss, who was appointed CEO when the Wunderman brands merged with J. Walter Thompson, preferred to notify his employees that he would not continue with the new project.
In the text, he informs that WPP country manager, Stefano Zunino, will announce who will be responsible for VML and has made himself available to support the transition during the beginning of 2024.
I leave WPP with a mix of feelings. It has been 12 years since the sale of F.biz to the group, the last six between Wunderman and Wunderman Thompson. Two very intense and different cycles, full of personal fulfillment and also collective achievements. They were very significant and important years for me, says an excerpt from Reiss’s letter which propmark had access.
Nova VML
VML will begin operating from January 2024 and will be equipped to support clients in creative brand growth strategies and transformation initiatives, using data operations, technology platforms and partnerships with leading technology companies.
The agency will also provide an offering for healthcare companies and B2B marketers. With the merger, the company now has more than 30 thousand employees from 64 countries.
