Company that produces having its brand printed on the sleeves of Galo game shirts
Atlético Mineiro and Gerdau announced the strengthening of their partnership, in force since 2021. The official announcement of the agreement took place on Monday afternoon (19), with the presence of executives from Gerdau, MRV and the board of directors of the Minas Gerais team.
For the next season, the steel production company will have its brand on the sleeves of Galo’s game shirt, from youth to professional categories.
“Gerdau has been our partner since the most successful year in the history of Galo. It is a great national company, and from Minas Gerais at heart. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the kindness and all the support from MRV, who kindly gave up this noble space in our uniform to another company extremely important”, said Srgio Coelho, president of the club.
Given the strengthening of Gerdau’s presence within the Club and as a way of providing Atlético with greater revenue through sponsorship of its uniform, MRV gave up the space it occupied in the black and white mantle, starting to dedicate itself to other brand fronts of the Club, such as the sponsored by Arena MRV.
For Gerdau’s CEO, Gustavo Werneck, the partnership with Galo reinforces the company’s confidence in the ability of sport to transform lives. “We believe in the role of sport as an important instrument of social transformation. Therefore, through this partnership, we have the opportunity to work on social inclusion with children in the communities and improve care for young people in the youth categories”, highlighted the executive.
In addition to sponsorship, Gerdau also supports the “Galo Social” project, which serves 240 boys and girls, aged between 6 and 18, residents of the neighboring Cidade do Galo.
With the initiative, young people have educational support from a multidisciplinary team, within the training center itself, and access to sports practice using the Club’s methodology, as well as transportation from school to Cidade do Galo, carried out with the support of Vespasiano city hall and snacks served at the location of the activities.
