A Samsung today unveils the Galaxy S22 and S22+, two smartphones that enable creativity and self-expression. The Galaxy S22 and S22+ introduce dynamic cameras with advanced, intelligent image processing to make every moment extraordinary. The Galaxy S22 and S22+ are designed to be environmentally conscious.
“We focused on designing our latest S Series devices with innovative camera capabilities that work day and night, powered by our best mobile performance ever,” says TM Roh, President and Business Leader MX (Mobile eXperience) at Samsung Electronics.
A Samsung’s smartest camera
With the Galaxy S22 Series’ revolutionary new Nightography features – like a 23% larger sensor than the S21 and S21+ and Adaptive Pixel technology – your camera is designed to let in more light, show off details and capture colors that make your content stand out, even in the dark.
Both the Galaxy S22 and S22+ have a powerful 50 MP main camera, 10 MP telephoto lens and 12 MP Ultra-Wide. When you’re shooting videos with friends, the new Auto Framing feature detects and tracks up to 10 people and automatically adjusts the camera’s focus so they’re all captured with quality. Both devices are powered by advanced VDIS technology, which minimizes vibration so you get crisp, smooth images even on the move.
Greater durability
The Galaxy S22 and S22+ are the first S Series models made with Armor Aluminum – tough aluminum so you can take your smartphone anywhere with peace of mind. The Galaxy S22 Series smartphones are also the first with the new Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+. S22 Series devices are equipped with heavy-duty glass on the front and back, so you worry less about accidental drops.
A sustainable future
Plastic pollution poses serious threats to the environment and discarded fishing nets are especially harmful to marine life and the oceans. By collaborating with leading organizations, Samsung helps recover discarded fishing nets and turns them into a high-performance material for our smartphones.
This material – used in the key holder component of the Galaxy S22 Series – contains 20% recycled plastic from discarded fishing nets that would otherwise go into the ocean. The Galaxy S22 Series also incorporates post-consumer recycled material in its speaker module, as well as the internal parts of the power and volume keys.
In addition to the plastics that would go into the ocean, the company uses 100% recycled paper for the Galaxy S22’s packaging and includes a protective film made from recycled plastic. Each protective smartphone case is also designed with eco-conscious, UL-certified materials such as post-consumer recycled plastics or bio-based substances.
