Uber announced the launch of Uber Cast, a videocast that will discuss the company’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives. The first episode will be released on January 16th.
The program will be divided into five episodes, released weekly, and will feature the participation of company executives and guests to debate the points of view of partner drivers and platform users.
The conversations will be led by Letcia Vidica, a journalist with more than 18 years of experience and stints at TV Globo and CNN.
In the first two episodes, the debate addresses the context of public security in Brazil and the scope of technology to mitigate challenges; the importance of diversity and inclusion for Uber, the commitment to women’s safety and the alleged “gas scam”.
“It’s not enough to look at technology just as a facilitator of our lives. We need to go further and find solutions that promote safety and respect among the people who use our platform every day. These are current issues in society and which are also reflected in our app “, explained Silvia Penna, general director of Uber in Brazil.
