Campaign has a communication strategy made in partnership with VML
In Brazil, almost 35 million people live without treated water and around 100 million do not have access to sewage collection, according to the Sanitation ranking, published by Instituto Trata Brasil. With this in mind, the São Paulo Public Ministry launched a campaign that aims to raise awareness about this reality and encourage people to demand action from the responsible bodies.
The piece entitled “Mars Aqui” invites the public to reflect on the global expenditure to make Mars a habitable planet while there are people who live without electricity, without drinking water, without basic sanitation and without housing.
The Public Ministry’s mission is to guarantee the defense of society’s interests in matters related to housing. This campaign has the important role of reminding the population that social mobilization around the issue is also an important tool for us to continue working to combat the housing crisis, said Mario Sarrubbo, Attorney General of Justice.
The communication strategy, developed in partnership with VML, includes content for the digital environment, in addition to a hotsite that will share information and show a map of the housing deficit in the State of São Paulo.
We recurrently read news of people and institutions spending millions to make Mars habitable, while millions of Brazilians live in sub-human conditions right here, on our side. This campaign aims to awaken this social awareness and mobilize the population so that more effective measures to combat poverty are taken, added Sleyman Khodor, CCO at VML.
