Capcom has started a countdown on its official site. However, the company did not reveal what exactly the clock is counting down to. The end of the count will take place on February 21, 6 days from now, and is scheduled for 03h in Brasilia time.
Fans of the company’s games around the world are theorizing about what the count made by Capcom may be in store. The biggest bets think it could be the announcement date for a new game, or some already known production that could win a remaster or remake by the company.
Many are betting high that the announcement will be related to the Resident Evil franchise. On a high in recent years, the game series won its last sequel to the main saga last year, titled Resident Evil: Village. However, most think that the announcement will not be for a new game.
Rumors of a remake of Resident Evil 4, one of the franchise’s biggest hits, have been buzzing in recent months. Having even had concept art supposedly leaked, most fans take the game’s production for granted and hope that the announcement made on the 21st is this.
Still, other Capcom productions may also be the producer’s bet for the announcement. It is worth remembering that Street Fighter 5 has reached the end of its updates, which makes room for the production of a 6th game in the franchise. The last title in the fighting franchise came to consoles and PC in 2016.
DLCs, additional content to already released games, are also a possibility to be considered. Capcom recently announced a new addition to Monster Hunter Rise called “Sunbreak” and some people believe the countdown may have something to do with this new addition.
