The World Creativity Organization has officially opened registration for partners, supporters and speakers who want to be part of World Creativity Day in their cities. With thousands of completely free activities, the seventh edition of the event that is part of the official UN calendar takes place on April 21st.
To date, the largest collaborative celebration of the creative economy in Brazil and the world already has 55 cities confirmed for 2024. One of them is São Paulo, where World Creativity Day will unfold into countless experiences, panels, lectures, workshops and performances in neighborhoods from the most diverse sub-prefectures in the four corners of the capital of São Paulo. Registration runs until February 25th and those interested in being part of the event must register on the official site.
The World Creativity Organization hopes to attract volunteers who identify with the creative economy and innovation, the main pillars of World Creativity Day; inspiring people capable of designing relevant lectures and workshops to generate positive impact on communities; managers of public and private spaces who want to transform these places into hubs of innovation and creativity and, finally, partners interested in contributing with institutional, media, relationship or sponsorship support in each of the cities.
With the theme ‘Plural Intelligences’, the 2024 edition expands the discussion between public power, private initiative and civil society on the different intelligences and how creativity is inserted in this context.
The objective, once again, is to unite the creativity and innovation ecosystem of different cities, focusing on sustainable development based on pillars such as learning, diversity, entrepreneurship and transformation. For the public, free registration for each activity will open in March.
The collaboration between so many community transformation agents is fundamental to providing opportunities for education, integration, entertainment, innovation and reflection, with the potential to generate lasting legacies in cities across Brazil, accelerating the creative revolution we desire”, points out Luiz Serafim, director executive at World Creativity Day.
News for the World Festival of Creativity
This year, the new thing is that the entrepreneurial and creative public will have another date to connect with the theme and celebrate the city of São Paulo. The World Creativity Festival, an event previously parallel to World Creativity Day, now has a new date in the annual calendar, moving to the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th of October, with experiences, content and shows of great impact in the capital of São Paulo .
In response to requests from the creative community from various regions of the country, and with the growth of the festival itself, which last year featured 102 activities and brought together 7,842 people over three days of activity, the event gained a particular calendar. The schedule of attractions will be announced over the next few months on the festival’s social media (@worldcreativityday).
Director General of the World Creativity Organization, Lucas Foster explains that World Creativity Day plays a role in supporting social development, with democratization of access, decentralization and direct connection between those inspiring and the general public. The World Festival of Creativity is increasingly business- and market-oriented, with content and experiences focused on the most up-to-date innovation solutions, creative economy, sustainability and economic development.
The creative community signaled its desire not to choose whether to participate in World Creativity Day or Festival activations. As we listen all the time and have our finger on the pulse of this audience, we decided it was time to change the dynamic and separate the two initiatives,” said Foster.
