I’ve watched great European series on Film & Arts. It was there that I met – and loved – Sanditon. And also Hotel Sacher. And I was very curious to know another one that will premiere this Wednesday (16), at 10 pm, on the channel. It’s a French miniseries called Romance. The title alone piqued my interest, lol!
The miniseries tells the story of Jérémy (Pierre Deladonchamps). He is a 32-year-old man who feels out of place in the 21st century. He accidentally discovers Wonderland, a jazz club with live music. There, people sing and dance, immersing themselves in the 1960s universe. The place is run by a charismatic manager named Tony (Simon Abkarian). And Wonderland soon attracts the attention of the young man who ends up becoming a bartender in a mesmerizing setting. And that’s where it all starts. It will tell a time-traveling love story, a romantic thriller, in six chapters. the star of Romance is Olga Kurylenko, from Oblivionlike Alice, the woman who sparks a passion just for a photo.
In its debut episode, A Thief of Honor, a photo of a woman mysterious for her beauty, and about to die, catches Jérémy’s attention. And he will find a way to meet the muse of the image in the 1960s Biarritz. Any resemblance to Somewhere in the Past It shouldn’t be a mere coincidence, lol! The drama directed by Hervé Hadmar, winner of the Crystal Globe for Best Film or Television Series, for Pigalle at night.
