Participant Maria was expelled from the 22nd edition of Big Brother Brasil. The announcement was made by the production of the program on the morning of this Tuesday, February 15th. The reason for the elimination of the participant was the violation of one of the main rules of the BBB: according to the analysis of the house, Maria would have committed an aggression.
It all happened last night, when the so-called “Game of Discord” took place, traditional on Monday nights at the BBB. In the dynamic, the participants should expose something about another player while the house would vote whether or not to accept the accusation made, causing one of the two players to throw water at the other.
In Maria’s case, she should throw water on Natalia’s head, who had “lost” the accusation made. However, in addition to complying with the agreement, the participant also threw the bucket at her housemate’s head. Although she defended herself, saying that the object slipped from her hand, the internet did not forgive and asked for her elimination.
After review, the assault was confirmed after the night and Maria went to the confessional in the house. The other BBB participants have already been notified of the program’s decision not to continue with the player. Other cases of disqualification within the BBB
This is not the first time a contestant has been disqualified from Big Brother. Other times players have already disobeyed the rules combined with the production and ended up leaving the most watched house in Brazil before the time. Recall some cases in which attitudes generated expulsions within the program:
Daniel – BBB 12
Daniel was the first participant to be expelled from the BBB, at the time the program was in its 12th edition. The charge for disqualification was one of the most serious to date, as the participant left the house suspected of having a non-consensual relationship with another player, Monique.
After Lucas left the house for the case to be properly investigated outside the house, Monique confirmed that sexual relations with Lucas inside the house were done with her consent. This was the only case in the show where a participant was expelled for this reason.
Ana Paula Renault – BBB 16
One of the most remarkable expulsions in the history of Big Brother Brazil. Ana Paula Renault is considered by many to be the protagonist of the 16th edition of the program. However, the favoritism that the player had throughout the BBB that year was not enough to prevent her elimination due to aggression.
In this case, the aggression was not due to pressure from the networks or due to an evaluation of the production itself, but due to the participant’s complaints. Renan reported discomfort to the backstage of the program and as determined in the rules, Ana Paula left the house. Still, the sister attended the final party along with the other players.
Marcos Harter – BBB 17
Marcos Harter was one of the most controversial participants of the program to date. The surgeon became involved in a romance with Emily, who was the champion of that edition, but unlike her, things did not end so well for him. Like Ana Paula, Marcos left the house accused of assault.
Even so, in the case of the surgeon, the decision also came with good pressure from the public, who did not like the way he treated his girlfriend within the BBB. Harter was eliminated in the final stretch of the program, after several behaviors considered aggressive, he squeezed his sister to the point that she had marks on her skin.
Hariany Almeida – BBB 19
The last participant kicked out of the program before Maria. Hariany was expelled after pushing her friend and ally in the game, Paula Von Sperling, champion of the 2019 edition. Also in the final stretch of the program, both had a falling out while they were drunk at a party and the participant ended up pushing her friend.
Although Paula has not reported any aggression or complained about her friend’s behavior during the night, the program’s production did not let the event pass. The following day, Hariany’s departure from the program was announced and the final of the reality show took place without her presence.
International expulsions
The cases of disqualification in the program did not only happen in Big Brother Brazil, but also in the international editions of the program. One of the most striking and remembered on the internet is that of the participant Hélder Teixeira, from Portugal, who was expelled when he participated last year.
The expulsion took place after Hélder made a Nazi salute several times at different moments in the program. In the end, there was no other way, the participant was expelled and had to leave before the time. The case generated repercussions, mainly because of the speech he had to listen to before leaving the house.
