Ao, from the Brazil-Israel Institute, brings films that combat different types of prejudice
This Wednesday (7) is the National Day of Struggle for Indigenous Peoples, and the Brazil-Israel Institute (IBI) launches the #PenseAntesdeSpeak campaign, focusing on combating prejudice in Brazil. The films present situations in which minorities are discriminated against, as a way of exposing and repudiating the oppression against such groups in the country.
In the new version of the campaign, the indigenous community is represented by young Samara Borari, indigenous and environmental activist, biological sciences graduate and active in the Revolution Brasil fashion movement, in the Engamundo youth network and in the youth leadership of the Transforming Territory of Tapajs. Samara warns that the killing of native peoples, in addition to being a crime, represents a serious form of persecution.
In addition to raising awareness about prejudice against indigenous peoples, the campaign also addresses racism, LGBTQIA+phobia, religious intolerance, Islamophobia and anti-Semitism. In the films, representatives of these minorities exemplify how these attacks happen on a daily basis and call for public awareness.
Participating in the campaign are Edu Lyra, social entrepreneur and founder of Gerando Falces, student Fatima Hage and actress Viviane Pasmanter. There are pieces that also feature the participation of communicator Ariel Nobre, actor Diego Raymond, rapper Zeus, singer Assucena Assucena, activist Neon Cunha and former player Denlson.
