A union of forces by Walt Disney (ESPN), Fox e Warner Bros. should move the media market. The three giants plan to launch a joint service streaming of sports, offering consumers a new way to access live sports.
The platform, which will be owned by a newly formed company with its own leadership, does not yet have a name or price. Each party involved will have a one-third stake. Subscribers will also be able to bundle the product with the companies’ streaming platforms Disney+, Hulu and Max.
The service will be comprised of all broadcast and cable networks owned by Disney, Fox and Warner Bros. Discovery that broadcast sports, along with ESPN+. From Disney, this includes ESPN and its sister networks such as ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, ACCN, ESPNEWS, as well as the ABC broadcast network. Warner Bros. networks Discovery that show sports are TNT, TBS and TruTV. Fox includes FS1, FS2 and BTN.
The novelty does not prevent companies from creating new parallel offers, such as the case of ESPN, which has been analyzing possibilities within the market.
