The bank Santander entered the Guinness World Records with the skate park located inside the Farol Santander building, in So Paulo (SP). It is the highest in the world, at 83.14 meters above the ground.
Named ‘Pista do 21’, as it is located on the 21st floor of the building, the track is currently operated by Rajas Skatepark. Opened on January 25, 2022, the place offers individual and collective skateboarding sessions and classes, with its own approved methodology and team certified by the Federação Paulista de Skate (FPS), through reservations via the Farol Santander So Paulo website.
The track was built with the same surface used in the biggest world competitions and is approximately 300 square meters, with iron copings and angles, transitions, wallrides, handrails, stages, boxes, quarters and ramps with different heights and inclinations.
For the record, Farol Santander São Paulo submitted extensive documentation to Guinness World Records, which included plans and diagrams of the building, captured from various angles to accurately determine the total height of the structure.
In addition, a plan of the building seen from above was provided, highlighting its dimensions, and various documentation on the 21st floor, including measurements, sections, views and detailed diagrams of the building, with a detailed floor-by-floor analysis.
Farol Santander São Paulo will present, until March 24th, the exhibition ‘Anatomy Skate’. Opening in December 2023, the exhibition is curated by Cesar Gyro, founder of Tribo Skate magazine, from 1991.
The exhibition presents more than a hundred items related to this cultural manifestation that has become much more than a sport, an entertainment and a lifestyle, even reaching the status of an Olympic sport, with its debut at the 2020 Tokyo Games, which were played in 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
