O Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB) launches, starting this month, the COB Nas Escolas program, which will have a direct impact on the connection of children aged 4 to 10 with the Olympic world. Through the licensing model, schools will have access to support materials for enchantment, connection and activations inside and outside the sports environment, always with positive and inclusive experiences. To this end, the program relies on a sports initiation methodology developed in conjunction with the entity’s Sports Development area, which directly contributes to the teacher training process and, consequently, to the education of students, directly impacting new generations, in sport and in life.
The program begins in the year of the Paris Olympic Games and its objective is to strengthen the development of the principles of Olympism in a way connected to the pillars of education and awaken the passion for sport in a positive and inclusive way. All content is aimed at further propagating Olympic values among this new generation as a result of the Transforma Program, which COB has been working on for years in initiatives in Brazilian public schools.
This project is part of our strategy to approach and connect with generation Z, reaching out to children in the most conducive environment for education, which is schools. It is a proactivity of the Brazilian Olympic Committee where we aim to disseminate two principles of the Olympic movement: sports practice and the values of Olympism”, says Gustavo Herbetta, COB Marketing Director.
A Think Sports It is COB’s partner agency, exclusively, that will manage the program in Brazil. Arthur Borelli, CEO of the agency, explains that the idea for this project was born after more than ten years monitoring the market, studying and developing sports schools, especially within educational institutions.
Having certification from the highest national sporting entity is undoubtedly the first step towards enchantment and for parents to understand that the school is also concerned with the health and well-being of children. Another important factor is the expansion of teacher training throughout the country. Promote and offer more and more training content so that physical education professionals are increasingly ready, updated, and using the best practices endorsed by the COB in any environment in which a physical activity can be developed, highlights Borelli.
