Ambev and Piraquê are two of the companies that donated to the city of Rio de Janeiro; Band and Globo campaign to collect items
Until the publication of this note, the number of deaths in Petrópolis (RJ) had already exceeded 100, as a result of the heavy rains that hit the city. The numbers of homeless or displaced are high, and always updated upwards as the hours go by. Faced with the desolate scenario of one of the worst tragedies in the city, companies, brands and vehicles are mobilizing to help the population of the city of Rio de Janeiro.
Ambev announced that it will donate 21,000 liters of water to the city. “In such a delicate and sad moment, our efforts are to welcome and help our local team and the Petropolitan community. We are in contact with the authorities to understand how we can best contribute. 17), we have already taken more than 21 thousand liters of water”, he informed.
Also on Thursday, Piraquê reported that it had made an emergency donation of food to flood victims. This morning, as stated by the company, 1.3 ton of food was donated to the Commission of Victims of Tragedy in the Mountain Region of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
Donations will be directed to families registered in the Federal Government’s Social Rental Program, intended for families or people who were victims of the natural disaster, who had to leave their home.
“We were able to quickly send this first emergency donation to the Commission of Tragedy Victims of the Serrana Region of Rio de Janeiro to support the victims of the floods, given the close relationship we have with the region”, says Tiago Timbó, communication, culture and sustainability of M. Dias Branco, owner of the Piraquê brand.
Multiplan malls in Rio de Janeiro are receiving donations of non-perishable food, cleaning and personal hygiene products, clothes, shoes and mineral water. According to the brand, the items collected for the affected families will be sent to the Corrente do Bem Institute.
Dog and cat food donations are also being accepted, an initiative in partnership with Rio Eco Pets. The animal support institution also collects online donations.
Rede Supermarket, in turn, opened the doors of 120 units in the State of Rio de Janeiro to receive donations of water, personal hygiene items and non-perishable food destined for the city of Petrópolis.
The units are located in Rio de Janeiro (North, South, West and Center), Metropolitan Region (Niterói, Maricá, São Gonçalo, Itaboraí, Magé, Tanguá, Rio Bonito, Tanguá), Baixada Fluminense (Caxias, Nova Iguaçu, Japeri , Belford Roxo, São João de Meriti, Mesquita, Nilópolis, Queimados, Magé), Coastal Lowlands/ Lagos Region (Araruama, Cabo Frio, Saquarema, São Pedro da Aldeia), Mountain Region (Petrópolis), Middle Paraíba Fluminense Valley ( Barra Mansa, Pinheiral, Resende, Valença, Volta Redonda) and Norte Fluminense (Macaé).
The accelerator Cross Networking reported that it raised, internally, a cash donation of R$ 6 thousand reverted to the Citizenship Action and to the Petrópolis Human Rights Development Center.

Band, Cufa and FNA Abraça os Estados mobilized a campaign of donations via PIX, whose value will be reversed in food, hygiene items, among other products.
