The event took place last Friday (15) and brought together businesspeople and executives to discuss transformations and trends in the sector
“Brazilian companies should take the focus off national competitive equity to look at the world and understand the transformation of our sector.” This was the speech of the president of LIDE Comrcio and founders of Gouva Ecosystem, Marcos Gouva, during the LIDE Seminar | Retail, held last Friday (15).
The event, which was sponsored by Atlas Renewable Energy, CNC, Magalu, PWC, Scanntech, brought together businesspeople and executives to discuss transformations and trends in the sector.
Throughout his speech, Gouva also asked businesspeople to look at the retail sector in a “more avant-garde” way, but not to ignore the importance of globalized operations.
The speech was in line with the testimony of Jorge Gonalves, president of the Institute for Retail Development (IDV), who discussed the importance of constantly updating legislation to adapt to new resources and new technologies.
Optimization
Alexandre Birman, CEO of Arezzo, was one of the names present at the event and used his speaking time to advocate that retailers optimize points of contact with consumers to ensure a better experience.
“Our mission is to stimulate desire and improve the experience, precisely to deliver the best possible to the customer in the best possible way. Reducing points of contact with the consumer is a necessary challenge. It is necessary to adapt the operation to offer security. Adopting the model of the factory-consumer is fundamental for us to develop a competitive environment”, highlighted the executive.
In addition to Birman, Jordana Barros, COO of Telhanorte-Tumelero, was also present and discussed the importance of the purchasing journey in building customer loyalty. According to her, the sector needs to improve logistics and improve the consumer experience.
Adaptability
The founder and CEO of Petz, Sergio Zimerman, drew attention to the importance of protecting the sector in the face of possible competition from international players that are not subject, in some phases of operation, to Brazilian legislation.
Meanwhile, Multiplan’s Institutional Vice President, Vander Giordano, stated that the segment cannot remain static and, therefore, must demonstrate constant adaptability. “Naturally, those in retail have to look ahead. The evolution of the mall remains physical, with a lot of commerce, but now it is an important place for experiences,” he explained.
