Almost two months before the event, the Black Fair Festival announces more attractions. The singer Preta Gil, the black party Batekoo (BA) and the composer Lia de Itamarac are among those confirmed at the event. With the theme “Being Happy is Our Revolution”, the 22nd edition will be held from May 3rd to 5th, 2024, at Ibirapuera Park, in So Paulo (SP).
With an unprecedented show, Preta Gil highlighted the importance of participating in the festival to enhance black happiness.
“For me, it is very important to be able to be in this collective that helps so many people to understand themselves, whether through identity, gender or race. This festival made by and for people like me. It is the result of a resistance that only increases our strength”, celebrates the singer.
No line-up other big names in Brazilian music are also confirmed, such as Luedji Luna; ttoxx with Rincon Sapincia and Tasha & Tracie. Furthermore, the event will feature parties from the main black festivals in other Brazilian states, such as Psica (PA), Bronx (RS), Latinidades (DF); samba circles, such as Cacique de Ramos, Quintal dos Pretos, Resenha da Nala, Sambadela (Thelminha’s samba); and afro blocks, such as Zumbiido and Ilu Ob.
With an audacious and transformative vision, the festival comes with an innovative proposal: establishing and strengthening bonds of collective happiness, while celebrating and praising black identities. This landmark moment represents a significant turning point, in which new experiences are proposed and new horizons will be explored by the event’s audience.
