Globo Comunicao e Participaes (GCP) ended 2023 with more than R$800 million in profit, according to the company’s financial statement released this Thursday (28).
According to information presented by GCP, 63% of the company’s total revenue corresponds to advertising, which increased by 2% from one year to the next, and the other 37% comes from content, which decreased by 6% caused by the trend decline in pay TV, offset by growth in digital business.
In relation to net revenue from sales, advertising and services, GCP ended last year with R$15.1 billion, a stable value when compared to 2022. The company’s gross margin, a value that indicates how much a company earns for each item sold Including direct production costs, it registered an increase of 48% compared to the previous year.
According to Valor Econmico, the profit value for 2023 is 33% lower than that recorded in 2022, when the company ended the year with R$1.25 billion, a value that was influenced by the company’s non-recurring gains such as the sale of record company Som Livre, for example.
